Brian Lovesky

Executive Chef
Brian Lovesky

Born and raised in the Triple cities of New York state, Chef Brian Lovesky was surrounded by the many flavors of the different ethnic cultures of the area. From a young age, his family was always cooking and traveled quite a bit; always with an emphasis on the culture, allowing him to experience the many of the cuisines of America.

After High School, he took a job as a prep cook at a local restaurant. After quickly learning the menu, he was promoted to lead line cook. When a catalog from the The Culinary Institute of America arrived at the restaurant, Chef Brian realized his ambitions were much larger than that of a line cook, and felt this was his opportunity to acquire the knowledge to perfect a craft in Culinary Arts and Hospitality. He applied, was awarded a scholarship, and was accepted to attend the Culinary Institute of America.

During his studies at the C.I.A., he was privileged to do an externship at Bacco Ristorante, one of Ralph Brennan’s finest restaurants in the French Quarter of New Orleans, where he was able to acquire much valuable knowledge from the experienced chefs and culture of the Crescent City.

After his graduation, he began his professional career in some of Nashville, TN’s many great restaurants. Through his hard work in the Music City he worked his way up from making salads at Saffire Restaurant to his unexpected first position as Executive Chef at the Brentwood Grille.

After marrying his long time girlfriend Holly, he fulfilled a promise to return to the Triple cities when they had children. Five years later, Chef Brian and his wife left Nashville and headed back to upstate New york.

Once settled, Chef Brian accepted a position at a popular downtown Binghamton venue, Tranquil Bar and Bistro where he established a successful following. Although the kitchen size was minimal, with his strong kitchen staff he was able to create an exciting culinary experience using creative cooking techniques, fresh ingredients, well balanced flavors with delicious beer and wine pairings. After a few years, Chef Brian knew he was constrained by the size of the kitchen and decided it was time to explore other opportunities to better accommodate his culinary visions and presentations on a larger scale.

As of July 2013, Chef Brian began his newest culinary adventure as the Chef de cuisine of the Galaxy Brewing Co. located in the old Phil's Gift shop on Court St in Downtown Binghamton, NY.

Chef Brian relocated to Venice in 2017 and is now the Chef at The Crow’s Nest Marina, Restaurant and Tavern, Venice’s Waterfront Landmark since 1976!
